You will be responsible for supporting projects by ensuring the procurement of multiple water treatment and related packages is in accordance with project requirements and schedule. The water treatment packages could include dissolved air flotation (DAF), multimedia filtration (MMF), vacuum deaeration, sulphate removal units (SRU) and associated rotating equipment. The Mechanical Package Engineer will be based in Brunei as an expat seconded to the client's offices.
Essential duties are:
- Responsible for ensuring the equipment packages meet the requirements of the project
- Provide technical interface with relevant stakeholders, BSP's design consultant and vendors
- Produce reports to fulfill project requirements
- Provide technical input to Design Reviews, Readiness Reviews, HAZIDs and HAZOPs
- Review vendor documentation and ensure required documentation is submitted as per specified in Material Requisitions (MR)
- Coordinate the locations of equipment and logistics
- Ensure correct specification, procurement and timely delivery of materials and equipment with the assistance of the Project Materials Coordinator;
This includes direct management of key vendors, and planning for and attendance at FAT's as required
- Comply with standardized project management tools, in particular related to progress tracking, project development and completion by system/ sub-system, completion management, start-up, transition, etc.
- Ensure that a commissioning and start-up strategy is developed, utilizing sequential start-up VCRs (Verification Certificate of Readiness) to facilitate a logical and safe start-up sequence, and to prepare for and execute a safe start-up
- Ensure that all contractor activities meet the HSE MS requirements of the company and that systems are in place, and working, to monitor and improve the HSE performance
- Provide input to detailed bi-weekly reports to project management, and other management reports as required
- Ensure the objectives of the project are met including HSE, operability, maintainability, schedule and cost
- Ensure that ORP/OPMG practices and guidelines are followed and OR&A requirements are met
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
- Degree in relevant engineering discipline required
- Experience in the water and/or oil and gas industry preferred
- A qualified discipline engineer with a minimum of 10 years' experience in mechanical package engineering, related work in most of the following aspects: conceptual design, detailed design, construction, commissioning, handover and project management. Experience with rotating equipment and/or water desalination technologies,. The incumbent should have been in a responsible position with reporting subordinates and preferably have a minimum of 2 years' experience in project engineering.
